Director to Account Executive
THE JOB

SolComms, an award-winning integrated communications agency for startups and scale-ups, is expanding its growing Healthtech division.

We are currently hiring across multiple levels, from mid-level (Account Executive) to senior leadership (Director). Below is a high-level overview outlining the core responsibilities for each role.

Director (Salary Range: $100k-$120k)

• Strategic Account & Client Leadership: Independently manage multiple accounts as a senior client counselor, leading strategy development, executive messaging, media announcements, and on-site event execution while proactively anticipating challenges and identifying growth opportunities.

• Media & Corporate Communications Expertise: Drive top-tier media placements and thought leadership opportunities, refine media strategy, create news moments, approve complex materials, and serve as an industry expert with strong relationships across press and partners.

• Team Leadership & Agency Growth: Mentor and directly manage junior staff, foster team development, contribute to new business and upsells, and act as an agency ambassador through industry engagement and strategic division growth initiatives.

Senior Account Executive (Salary Range: $70k-$90k)

• Strategic Execution & Account Leadership: Support and help lead strategy development, proactively identify news and campaign opportunities, execute integrated campaigns and events end-to-end, and begin serving as the day-to-day client lead.

• Media & Corporate Communications Expertise: Drive thought leadership and executive messaging, lead key announcements, draft complex media materials, refine media strategy, and consistently secure impactful placements across channels.

• Team Oversight & Agency Contribution: Review and elevate team deliverables to agency standards, directly manage and mentor junior staff, lead brainstorms and internal workflows, and support new business efforts and partnership growth.

Account Executive (Salary Range: $60k-$70K)

• Strategic & Account Advancement: Play a key role in developing plans and big ideas, actively contribute to brainstorms, lead portions of client calls, and strengthen direct client relationships through proactive communication and POVs.

• Media & Event Leadership: Demonstrate strong media relationships and consistently secure top-tier coverage, draft and review press materials and pitches, manage awards and conference submissions, and conceptualize and execute events from planning through on-site management.

• Team Oversight & Operational Excellence: Review and elevate junior team deliverables to agency standards, identify and act on timely news opportunities, manage reporting materials, and mentor junior staff as a trusted day-to-day resource.

Director of Finance
THE JOB

SolComms, an award-winning integrated communications agency for startups and scale-ups at the intersection of corporate and consumer communications, is seeking an Accounting Manager to partner with the Founder and CEO of the agency to drive financial excellence internally and externally. Relevant work experience with Agencies or client services experience (advertising, PR, communications, media or legal) is preferred.

This newly created role will be instrumental in supporting and maintaining smooth operations, administration, and finance functions, including maintaining organizational systems, managing internal financial controls and budgeting, coordinating with human resources, and providing project and administrative support to drive efficiency and profitability for the agency

Business & Finance Operations

• Maintain and manage all accounts payable/ receivable (AP/AR) transactions, producing reports as requested
• Ensure all AP/ AR requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external partiesSupport the monthly financial close process. Ensure all income and expenses are correctly entered and coded in QuickBooks and accounts are reconciled
• Support in reviewing bank reconciliation reports and bank statements each month, collections on open invoices, incoming payment application, etc.
• Oversee and execute payroll including calculating employees’ compensation, updating internal payroll databases, preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements, and ensuring timely payments.
• Track, manage, and execute bonuses for staff, ranging from new business incentives to salary increases for incentivized hires, etc.
• Support the development of annual organizational budget
• Keep financial files organized, up-to-date, and accessible
• Manage and oversee the process for both new and existing client contracts, interfacing with the Executive Team to ensure timely renewals and seamless delivery of key documents


Internal Ops & Admin

• Maintain internal office systems and conduct data entry and record updates as needed: Timesheet systems, Adobe user licenses, physical mail/check deposits, CRM and database systems as needed, etc.
• Support in the development and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting (i.e. timesheet/overservicing reports, dashboards, P&Ls, etc.);
• Provide summaries to the Executive Team, including insightful explanations and trends
• Proactively identify opportunities and provide strategic counsel to Executive Leadership on business decisions ranging from capacity management to client profitability to new business proposals
• Act as a liaison with all vendors, including overseeing all benefit management for the agency (i.e. insurance brokers, 401k, FSA plan, etc.)
• Oversee new hire paperwork, including coordinating with staff on benefits enrollment, employee offboarding, and respond to basic benefits question
• Stay up to date on best practices to recommend and implement improvements to systems; work closely with leadership and client teams to identify, design, implement and manage policy and process updates

Summer Associate
THE JOB

SolComms, an award-winning integrated communications agency for startups and scale-ups at the intersection of corporate and consumer communications, is now accepting applications for three entry-level associates to join our dynamic team this summer.

Designed for recent graduates pursuing a career in public relations, the Summer Associate Program offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in an entry-level agency role. Associates will work across a diverse portfolio of B2B and consumer-facing clients spanning healthcare, digital health, and technology sectors, building practical skills in media relations, strategy, and client service.

At the conclusion of the program, associates will complete a capstone, project-based assignment. Participants will select a client they’ve supported and develop a fully realized, newsworthy campaign concept to present to the agency’s leadership team.

Upon completion of the program, associates may be considered for a full-time position with the agency, pending a comprehensive review of their performance and overall training experience.

The paid Summer Associate Program runs for 12 weeks, from June 1 through August 30 (Monday-Thursday). The majority of the program will take place on-site at our New York City office, with the final month transitioning to a remote format. Associates are expected to work four days per week.

Throughout the program, you’ll gain hands-on experience and learn how to:

Administrative Tasks:
‍•
Conduct daily and weekly audits, flagging coverage, and relevant news pertaining to your clients across all mediums.
‍• Assist in daily management of PR trackers; drafting call agendas and recaps; leading real-time and monthly reporting; scheduling meetings with clients, and more.
‍• Set up Google Alerts for all clients and relevant keywords

Media Relations:
Participate in media relations activities, such as building thoughtful and targeted media lists.
‍• Learn to build foundational media relations skills such as sourcing Qwoted/HARO for media opportunities, pitching, securing coverage, and developing relationships with editors.
‍• Begin to draft media materials, including pitches, briefing docs, etc, tapping senior team members, as needed.
‍• Conduct in-depth research and industry monitoring; track coverage, flag relevant news, and deliver actionable insights to inform client strategy

Events & Partnerships:
Participate in ordering and retrieving event materials (branded assets, gift bag contents, etc.)
‍• Begin to source event partners, vendors, and venues, and inquire about pricing and availability.
‍• Assist in monitoring social for tags/coverage and capture for reporting purposes.
‍• Build out invite lists inclusive of media, influencers, tastemakers, etc., dependent on industry

Client Communications:
Demonstrate professionalism in front of external partners and clients.
‍• Participate in client calls, brainstorms, and planning sessions
